Reed Boardall is one of the largest temperature controlled food distribution businesses in the UK, regularly conveying over 5,300 different products to supermarkets nationwide.
From a single site next to the A1(M) in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, Reed Boardall works round the clock, seven days a week, 364 days a year, to ensure that the nation's supermarket freezers and chiller cabinets never go empty with a fleet of over 160 tractors and 240 refrigerated trailers, all under four years old
A brief history of Reed Boardall
1977 Guy Reed and Keith Boardall, long-time colleagues in the food industry, acquired a major stake in Allerton Cold Storage Ltd, based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
1988 Allerton Cold Storage Ltd acquired Wilson Transport Ltd, based in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire.
1991 Guy Reed and Keith Boardall acquired the remaining shares in Allerton Cold Storage and renamed the business Reed Boardall.
1992 The business relocated to Boroughbridge and the Northallerton site was sold.
